Location and Surroundings

Aune Cross is an Edwardian house located on the hill above Bantham and the river Avon, with views to Burgh Island and Hope Cove from the beautifully wooded gardens.

It is 1 mile to the village of Bantham, which has the Sloop Inn, a well known pub, and a local shop and café.  Bantham is famous for its long sweeping beaches and sand dunes and is designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty.  It is a superb location for a beach holiday.  Bantham is a surfing beach with an excellent lifeguard service.

The River Avon offers canoeing, fishing, sailing and of course beautiful walks.

Bantham beach over looks Burgh Island which is accessed by sea tractor when the tide is high from nearby Bigbury Bay.

A coastal walk takes you to Thurlestone, and it’s beaches, including the well known Thurlestone Rock, and then on to Hope cove, a delightful fishing harbour.

Kingsbridge is the nearest Town , approx 5 miles away, salcombe is 7 miles, and Dartmouth 12 miles away.  All are well worth a visit as they all have their own individual charm.
